Here is how:
1. Create a rough draft list of places and things you would like to see and do this summer. Keep in mind these things do not have to be expensive, they can be as simple as jumping in rain puddles to as extravagant as your summer vacation and road trips or a little of both.
(I suggest a list of 20-50 age appropriate items We went for 100 and it was a struggle coming up with that many things even for me!)
2. Grab a poster board, and some markers! I spent less then 4$ at the dollar store for 2 poster boards, markers and stickers to decorate the board since I have no artistic talent!
3. Get creative! Transfer your completed list onto your poster board. Make sure you make it pretty!
4. Display the board where the whole family can see and be reminded of all the fun to be had! Each time you complete an item have a child check it off the list and watch your list get smaller and smaller as summer goes on!
Other things you can do are document all your completed items by photographing them and at the end of summer, create a low-cost photo book on Shutterfly or a similar site so you can always remember the best summer ever! The photo book would also make a great show and tell piece!
Summer should be about spending as much time with your little ones as possible and getting out to explore! It doesn't matter how young or old, all kids will love all the quality time spent with mom or dad, grandma and grandpa or who ever may be helping them complete their list! If you make a list for your kids please share! Id love to feature a post about other families bucket lists!
Happy Summer everyone!
